Default I got the resonator removed from the exhaust today

And couldnt be happier! There were a couple leaks around the entry and the exit pipes and for some reason the resonator was sitting really low, even though the rubber mounts were all there and in good shape...Also, about 5" back from the cats, there were a couple clamps that were also leaky, making the UrS sound like many farty beat up Hondas do. The only advantage was the sound at 3500+rpm.
My financial situation dictated a patch job, I initially just wanted the holes patched up, but as soon as they put the car on the hoist, I said cut the whole thing 5" back of the cats all the way to the rear muffler inlets and replace with straight pipe. I (and the exhaust shop guy) could not believe how much the damn resonator weighed (~50 lbs??). He made the necessary bends and welded the pipes in, welded a hanger support and voila! Back to quietness.
Now, some impressions:
At idle, there is a very slight tonality difference. Being used to the old leaky exhaust, it's QUIET!!! But compared to my recollection of how it sounded before, it is slightly deeper but hardly noticeable.
Driving is actually very nice sounding, a deep rumble especially above 2.5k rpm and it doesn't get alot louder higher up in the rev range.
Performance wise, if there is any improvement it's minimal, it's only the weight saving that helps with that 0.0015653 second improvement from 0-100 km/h.

I was dreaming of a 3" turbo back system, but I just can't afford sinking over $1000 in an exhaust now, being unemployed...
This fix was a bit under $200 and I'll be happy if it lasts for 2-3 years untill I retire the UrS from its daily driver duties. But I'd recommend this "mod" to anyone that wants a little deeper exhaust note, especially if your car is on a diet.
The phone was in the car which was up on the hoist, so no pics.

How about cruising on the highway? 3k-4k rpm droning? Any of that?

Couldnt tell you. The highway driving I've done so far is around 3k rpm max -due to traffic and quite short.
