Max PSI for stock fuelling/ecu
My car's engine is stock minus some samcos. the ecu has not been touched and it seems that my WG is adjusted all the way down. I have an autometer boost guage and i'm overboosting to what looks like 18.5 psi and holding 16-17psi.
My question is... what can the stock ecu and fuel system handle?? hopefully there's an answer without getting a wideband thrown on.
Cheers
Scott.

I imagined that was the answer.. but i'm running more than stock boost as it seems aren't i?? I don't see any other mods, i know the ecu is untouched. what boost level will a stock, non-chipped ecu take care of the fuelling to?

You are getting stock levels.
These cars will push more boost in the summer, providing the air going into the IM isn't too hot.

1 Bar = 14.5 psi. 2.2 Bar absolute= 17.2 psi relative (with 14.7 psi atmospheric).
The US 92 S4 (and elmwood Canadian 93) trip computer digital boost gauge reads in absolute pressure in Bars, i.e. 2.2 Bars during over boost.

Before I chipped mine, it read 19 psi overboost pretty regularly, once or twice it

Thin air = less density, therefore more psi for the desired mass.
(I guess). Not gonna hit 19 to 20 psi relative on stock software at sea level.
Also, I would question the accuracy of the boost gauge.

nothing like doing math while driving...
Luckily, I live at sea level... so, ~1bar/14.7psi normal pressure
but then you nutballs who live 5000 feet up in the mountain have to deal with .86bar...
Or you colorado guys who live around 7000feet deal with .797bar
God, I remember having to determine carburetter jettings based on the average mean elevation of the area I planned on driving the friggin thing.
Luckily, in MA the Mean elevation is 500ft
and NH is only 1000ft, so I only had to tune the cars for 1bar.
actually, I think the mean elevation of most of New England is only 500feet, so you can tune most cars for 1bar and be happy... it's the humdity changes that REALLY mess up carburetter tuning :P especially on side-draught carbs... and getting them all synched up... friggin nightmare
hey, fuel injection... how about that?
