Default Is there a difference in the voltage reg. between 95.5's and older models?

I saw fastscirocco's post about the super cheap regulators, but which part number am I ordering for a 95.5? I shall continue to search the forums, but thought I would throw this up and see which one bears fruit first. Mine just died and I need to order it ASAP!

After a short battle with that stupid plastic cover, I discovered my part number to be 1 197 311 511.

Looking on Holcombedirect.com, that would be Item #: 09-VRB235 and it is $20.45.

Here is a picture:

AFAIK some '94's had the 120 amp alternator used in later models (mine does). I'm not sure about any older models.

(edit: removed wrong info)

The one you posted is not the same as mine, but that was still good info!

Dude, I'm sorry! That WAS the wrong one. I forgot that I had to enter the part number separately.

THIS is the one I got:

http://www.fap99.com/searchitem.epc

A search using your part number doesn't bring up anything on this site.

I advice you to get original Bosch parts, not jobber ones. on my 16v I used a complete jobber set of brushes in 7000km. 40 000km so far on the Bosch ones. jobber = 30$ Bosch = 75$ (prices approx)

Sorry for the messed up info.

When loooking for a voltage regulator I learned that Bosch was made in China while Holcombe
had voltage regulators made here in the USA, and had a good reputation for quality.

I decided to give them a try, and am quite happy so far.

Their products are used by many alternator rebuilders and the Ferrari owners are using their
parts to rebuild their alternators.

What does the term jobber supposed to denote?
