on going crank/no start issue
so i'm pretty new to the 92 urs4. i've had it about 2 weeks now. details are its a fully built motor with rs2 everything. and everything to go with it. important bits include 1.8t coilpack conversion 044. fuel pump with apikol fuel pump relay holder. which need to be factored into diagnosis. car was built and tuned by dave jones in co.
anyway on thursday i spent all morning driving it around here and there. got it through inspection. to the bank to the food store etc etc etc. came home to take a quick nap before work, an hr at max. came out... cranks a plenty. but no start. i also can't hear my fuel pump running. and we all know the 044 is loud especially under a 1/2 tank. so i did some searching and found the the cam position sensor was the likely suspect here being that it died while hot and that takes out fuel pump prime etc etc. so installed a new bosch cps sensor with matching part number(although it looked a bit different.... and still had the same condition
checked the blink codes. got 2121 which from what i can tell is an idle air/throttle type code... shouldnt dsable fuel pump from what i gathered. check connector in trunk good. checked fuse. no power on either side of fuse # 17. key on or key off. interesting.
did not check fuel pump relay as i was out of time patience and light. and eagerly wanting a beer and to stop getting eaten alive by mosquitos.
