urs6 finds new home in nashville!
ust picked up my 95 s6 avant on saturday, ddrove it down from michigan to its new home in nashville! performed flawlessly, im in love with it! haha. a couple of newb questions to this car....
1. is a cone filter a good idea? (ive heard the debates for the a4/a6s and wondered if that applied for this model as well)
2. what size is the maf housing? if i go with a cone filter, i want to have the right size connector prior to starting the job unlike what happened with my a4...ended having to drive to autozone 3 or 4 times haha
3. i have a "ln 2" flashing on my odometer upon start up, it means something about servicing correct?
4. any recommended parts/advice would be most welcome
thanks for the help guys! i hope to have pictures up soon!

things to do
1. Pull the panel in the engine compartment... the cowl panel. Clean out the leaves and crap. Water can fry your ECU if you don't.
2. Tighten your spark plugs. Everyone told me to do this, and I didn't check before a roadtrip, and guess what happened?
3. On a hot day throw some zymol leather conditioner on your seats. Trust me.

- spark plugs
- flush radiator, and refill
- flush oil, do oil change
- check IC hoses for cracks.
- check Turbo inlet hose for cracks, remove, check turbo for play
- change Air Filter, fuel filter.
- check to make sure car thermostat switches on after hard driving
- check timing belt tension
- clean MAF (use CRC Mass Air flow cleaner)
- check condition of your suspension
etc etc... I bought mine with 186K on the clock and no previous documentation so i went the extra mile and had
- injectors cleaned and serviced
- timing belt/water pump/belts/tensioner/thermostat replaced
- New Samcos
- New Turbo inlet pipe (034)
- new ignition (LS2 coil conversion)
- and replaced almost every sensor/switch/valve on the engine.
Boy it was expensive but definitely good knowing that most of those parts are new. You dont have to get that extreme, but its the best way to learn about your new car =)
enjoy and welcome!
