Default Clearing the ECU?

Does urS4/urS6 ECU adapt to driving habits? Is it recommended to clear the ECU by disconnecting the battery? Besides having to re-enter radio security code will it erase the keyless door code? Is the ECU the same during the NA urS4/urS6 production run ('92-'95)?

Sorry for asking these questions but I could find the answer by searching.

Thank you!

passenger side carpet (footwell). However, if you have never seen the ECU, it is easier to just disconnect the battery. You will need the radio code.

All North American UrS4 and UrS6s have the same Bosch Motronic ECUs.

Did you get my PM?

Does ECU adapt or store driving habits? I'm guessing the answer is "No" due to ECU vintage.

Will clearing ECU be a waste of time?

Granny, you will get Granny-like boost responses, if you drive it like you stole it, you will get better responses. Therefore, drive it hard if you want it to respond.

I will check my PM box.

I was serious. The ECU adapts to your driving habits. Clearing it brings it back to the default settings.

With the 1.8T and I believe the 2.7T doing this is beneficial if most of your driving is city or congestion.

I used to do it on my B5 Passat and it was great. It was drive by wire, these suckers are by cable so I'm not sure how it adapts in comparison.

The ECU still gets throttle position info via the throttle position potentiometer, cable or not.
