Default Rough Idle, Smells bad

Just started to run rough and smell bad 2 days ago. Sounds like it's only running running on 4 cyl. Bad smell, more like sulfer after I drive it.. Don't have any way to run codes w/o taking it in , so I just replaced the O2 Sensor Bosch 13913 (2 white /1 black just the original). Damn...still have the same problem (btw...the 2 white wire don't have any identification. Does it matter which "white to white" when splicing in the replacement wires)

What else might it be...I have a good independant , but don't have the $$$ right now.

Thanks,
DK

Default Probably a bad Power Output Stage channel but...

check your spark plugs to make sure that they are torqued in before you do anything else.

Procedure to check your spark plugs:

Procedure to check your POS channels and/or coils:

The sulphur smell is sulphur, you are running unburnt fuel through your catalytic converters.

you can check codes without taking it in, just need a piece of wire or something to jumper to connections. Look in the FAQ.

I have two POS's if you need one let me know.

Default plugged cats?

The salfur smell is typical of plugged cats. If your car was running rich over time crap will build up in the cats. It wont burn off and start to plug things up. Sometimes they (the cats.) will get glowing red hot and smell like rotten eggs. Thus your car will run like crap. That's my 2 cents.

Get this…tested/ pulled the connectors from all 5 injectors, and #3 is the colprit…great. So I proceed to swap the connectors on the POS’s. Being certain that 4 wire in from ECU follow w/ 3 wire out and the 3 wire in from ECU connected to the 2 wire out on the other POS. Started the car up thinking that the bad #3 would stay or move to another cyl., thus indicating bad injector or bad POS.

BUT….after the connector swap…IT RUNS PERFECT , what’s w/that? Am I damaging something or do I have an odd pin out config.

Here’s where it’s at…and running great:

Bosch - 4A 0 905 351A (now w/ 3wire to 2 wire)

Bosch - 0 227 100 209 (4 wire to 3 wire

First POS fires cylinders 1,2,3. The other POS fires cylinders 4,5 and empty. By swapping them, you moved the burnt out channel from cylinder 3 to the unused channel. You're all set, basically!
