Goal 400 hp
I have a budget of about 3-4grand!! Would like to get to the goal as well as maybe do brake upgrade. Is it possible if I source the parts and do the work myself?
Was thinking t4 or gt 3071, fmic, injectors, the whole nine
PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS!!!

Factor in the cost of rods, and can you replace them yourself? Common group wisdom around here is that once you start getting around 400, rods will not hold up.
Now, I do know of a car that is around 375 that is driven hard, and hasn't had a rod failure, yet.
Though, I think 3-4 K is low. You will also need something like VEMS or 034 software. Not cheap. Oh yeah, then a dyno tune, and that ain't cheap.

Good point!!! trying to get the budget right and purchase parts from month to month.
Did not really want to go stand alone however with that power would be best. Isn't there some cars that are not running the stand alone systems? If so would you be running into problems?

You don't necessarily need stand alone, you just need something that isn't a stock ecu. The closest I can find is the GT3071 Stage 1 chip setup, for a $1k, good for about 350hp. That kit also comes with injectors and some other stuff.

I just did the GT3071 Upgrade through 034 Motorsport. Once you try to go above the 350hp mark you probably need to get into the engine a bit.
I think your budget is low. To geto 350hp would probably cost more than $6K.
