Anyone know of a good place to get my clutch replaced in CT?
My car is going to be in need of one soon and as most people suggest, I'm going Southbend Stage 3. Im wondering about how much this job would be to get done and where in CT I could get this done.

why are you going with stg 3. I'm going to be buying a clutch kit soon as well and I am also looking at southbend. I was thinking more along the lines of their stg 2 kit. I have a stg I chip from NEA and I plan to go RS2 or equivalent in the next few years.
I plan don daily driving duty with spirited weekends. What are your plans for your car, maybe I should up it to the stg 3. I have never upgraded a clutch so I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks

I'm in about the same situation as you are (MRC Stage II chip, and I want to RS2 my car hopefully next summer). Julian_B recommended that I go Stage 3 and I searched the forum and saw some posts saying it was a good clutch. Also its about a 50 dollar difference between stage 2 and 3. If you do find out any further information before your purchase let me know

My decision is drivalbility, Whats another 50 bucks, the money isn't really the factor in this situation. I think I'm going to e-mail southbend this weekend and see what they think. Then I too have to find someone to help me get this thing installed. I'll report back when I know..My reason for the clutch is the turkey gobbling throw out bearing. My 97 jetta trek had 211xxx miles or so on the original clutch when I sold her last year.

wow 211k..best I could do was 190k on one clutch on my Saab 9000. (However this will be my 2nd one on the UrS in 165k) But its because my rear main seal is leaking.
Anyway...The driveability aspect is a good point that I'm now thinking about more too so I guess I'll decide if you hear back from Southbend.

I e-mailed SouthBend and they said..
Hi Sean,
I recommend using the stage 3 OFE. It is what I have in my Audi and has a near stock feel but will grab hard when I want it to.
I guess thats the answer. I will be ordering one in the next few months.
Also, 034 has a good price for the euro lenses i just pulled the trigger last night on a set for 106 w/shipping. Can't wait
