i have a 2002 a4 1.8t quattro with about 119k miles. just got the car and now got a couple fault codes. what would be your first step? what should i do?

cel & EPC i read the codes and they are

16396 bank 1 advanced cam

16705 ign./ dist. engine speed inoperative

16706 ign./ dist. engine speed circuit no signal

Your codes are incomplete, so are the details about the vehicle in question. If you are looking for real answers you should post a full diagnostic protocol (VCDS > Auto-Scan).
