Why didn't Audi put the tubo 5 from the TT RS into the S4? Bettter weight distribution, similar power, economies of scale.

The 3.0T is the investment choice with large economies of scale, not the transverse 2.5T.

There are lots platforms waiting for the 3.0T. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in the Touareg and the Cayenne also.

It will end up in S4, A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q7 and will replace al longitudinal VR6 engine's in VW's and Porsche's.

Had a 2.2 L turbo 5 in my first Audi , the flagship 1986 5000 CS Turbo Quattro sedan . Rough engine- not a joy to rev high , no low end TQ but arguably the most advanced car anywhere from a tech standpoint at that time, esp compared to that era's MBZ S class and BMW 7 series ,which I used to fly past during Chicago winters .

No such thing as a longitudinal VR6. Its a narrow angle 15 degree V6 that is transverse. The longitudinal V6 I guess is what you're talking.

Maybe you ought to peek under the hood of a Q7. ;)
