View Full Version : 10mm Spacer? MTM sell 20mm for RS4?

So I've read through this forum and it seems 10mm spacer is the size of choice with stock wheels and MTM are the way to go. When I go to their site, they are touting 20mm for the RS4. What gives and where are you getting your 10mm's from?

Also, any tire wear or suspension tweaks required with the slightly wider track?

Cheers,
Mark

MTM sells in a set. So the 20mm set is actually 2 10mm spacers. H&R's are just as good. Just make sure that you get the 150mm (diameter) ones and not the 135mm's.

Where do I buy these online?

Why not just fit 275/30/19 tyres instead?

Go to H&R springs.com or try joe hoppen for the MTM ones.

20mm is going to be too big, me thinks. I have 10mm in the back and they're perfect. Same up front. H&R. Works perfectly. Check a 20mm fitment before you commit, me thinks.

The correct size is 10mm, and MTM makes a perfectly fitted 10mm spacer the RS4 wheels. The inner bevel on the stock RS4 wheel is matched perfectly by the bevel on the spacer. Not all spacers have this design feature. Looks great. No rubbing whatsoever with stock suspension and tires. No hint of any vibration or odd sensations.

MTMs are 20mm/axel - so that's 10mm per wheel.

I'm ordering mine at ICS performance.

Do you have those spacers on? And are you keeping them on when you put on your new wheels on?

Yep. I have a set of stock wheels mounted with Dunlop Winter Sport for winter use. I will keep the spacers for my winter set-up. Not needed with the HRE's. The spacers make the stock wheels fit just like the HRE's relative to the fender.

Thats what I have found, My brother also has a RS4 Cab and we park next to each other at work. Can easily see the difference in the two after I put on the HRE's. Fills out the wheel well nicely

It's 20 per axle so that make it 10 per side. Order hte 20's and you'll get 2 10's.

would I have some rubbing if I were to do this? I've got a stasis suspension on stock wheels right now. Anyone have pics of spacers installed?

MTM's are expensive but absolutely worth it. The last thing you want to do is cheap out on spacers. They're an accessory that don't belong there in the first place. They're a "fix" for what is better accommodated at the wheel. Don't forget correctly-sized lug bolts, at least six engaged threads!

Just installed the MTM spacers on my recently delivered Phantom Black 2008 RS4, and what a difference. Each spacer is 10mm and the kit from MTM comes complete with longer wheel studs. Definitely a quality product and well worth the cash.

2 sets for 176EUR on the MTM.DE site? Does anyone know how much shipping would be from Germany to Seattle WA?

Your thoughts on whether having a stasis suspension will cause rubbing issues? You can see pics of my car's stance in my sig link. You're ride looks great.
