We can't get DSL where we live either but have the problem somewhat solved with fast wireless internet via Alltel..beats the heck out of dial-up.

Cellular? We dont' have cell coverage where I live either. Even though VT is a small state, we're tech challenged. It sucks.

You've got it.You just have to use satellite.I had it when I was in a simular situation.Worked great.I had Starband but there a couple more available now

yeah, but back to the frugal wife problem.. Sat internet is too expensive..

I feel your pain. Mine is upset that I spend so much time viewing races and communicating with Audi people. She loves the Chinese channels at least as much as I like car stuff. She wanted me to check Dish based on a $9.95 ad she saw, so I did. That covers nothing, especially the fine print. We pay $105 now, TV, DSL, no movie channels. Dish weighed in at $135 for the same service, plus we have a huge tree in the way. Too bad lady. Your passport is still good if you want a ride to LAX.

LOL. Apparently it had the T1 pegged.. I had to throttle the DL/UL speeds WAY back.. And, run it over night..
