This forum appears dead but I'll ask my questions and see if any of the folks from before respond.

My question is: what differences are there between a 1986 Audi 200 (from Europe) and a 1986 Audi 5000cs. Wikipedia suggests that they are both catalyst equipped, can anyone confirm this?

Also, I'm pulling a really nice dashboard from a 1988 Audi 5000 quattro, non-turbo. The car has the same dash as in the 1985 5000s (front-wheel drive) that I'm working on. Wouldn't the quattro have a higher dash to accommodate the knobs for the differentials? The center console on the '88 was totally destroyed when I found the car so I couldn't tell what the deal was.

Thanks,

Zane

Ign. timing is a bit different...
Bumpers, and the chrome trim (in EU the trim is attached to the bumper, not the body - on the back at least). There's an extra piece of sheetmetal at the back, because it has a small back bumper.

No idiot buzzer.

What else... You can start them without pressing on the clutch (not sure if you have to in the US or not, newer VAG-US cars you have to at least, and new EU you still dont).

Headlights, taillights, marker lights on the front wings.

As for the console, the location with the locking knob / display / cig lighter is replaced by a sort of cubby-hole for putting stuff in the non-Q cars.

Here's some detail on a euro car.

note that all the white on the rear is sheetmetal, the bumper is only the black part. and different headlights, front bumper, blinker in the bumper, etc.
