New guy here...I recently had access to a 2009 A3 loaner car from my dealer when I brought my 2006 A3 in for service, and I noticed that the front headrests are contoured differently.

I presently have a cronic neck injury that is aggrevated by the '06 headrest shape/position. When driving the '09, I had no problems. Seems like a trivial change right, but the dealer wants $406 each for the headrests. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how I can get my hands on a pair of the '09 version? I'd be willing to trade someone mine for theirs with some cash, or even a junk yard, but finding an '09 A3 in black leather is not easy...

Any ideas would be welcomed.

Ask them for the Part number, then check online at like www.parts.com or www.genuineaudiparts.com

A local trim shop might be able to sculpt your old ones, presuming you want more clearance. Did this with my LR3, but only 1/2". Enough to make a difference.

Thanks "mustbeaudi" I had thought about going to a place that does upholstry work, but questioned if they can retrofit the leather without making it look crappy... Do you have any pictures that I can look at for the ones you had done?
