So it was pretty hot today so I wanted some A/C. When I went to toggle the ECON mode off the light stayed lit. I went into the setup to switch it there but when I select "off" it just resets back to "on".

What the hell? Any thoughts?

I just hit the 'Auto' button usually.

you have to hold the econ button for 4 seconds, that's what my Audi guy told me.

I tried Auto but that didn't work. If I hold it down it turns the HVAC system off. Hmmm. Is there a fuse that I should check? Maybe i need to VAG it

sounds broken, based on the behavior.

I posted this on quattro new site also. I had this issue and it was because i rock had gone through the condenser and all the fluid leaked out. The car refused to turn on the A/C because of this. Had to replace the condenser.

When I bought my car, my dealer told me if ECON doesnt turn off A/C needs a recharge.

A/C needs to be recharged. I had this problem a few months ago.
