Hi, i have a 2006 a6 3.2 that i just purchased certified with 21k miles. In the mornings the car takes 4-5 seconds to start once key is turned. i have brought to the dealer twice and am told it is normal (after audi replaced fuel injectors). Has anyone had this problem and resolved it so i can tell my dealer how to fix this. Also, the car idles at 1200 rpms untill a minute or so after start. what i do now is pump the gas a few times and leave they key on aux setting for a few seconds then the car starts a little better (2-3 secs). any help would be friggin awesome!! thx

There is a TSB on the issue. Drop me a PM with your e-mail address, referencing the hard start problem, and I will send you the TSB.

Since I have regained the ability to edit my TSB list post in the other place, I will be updating it there.
If and when the powers that be here decide I can be trusted with my own threads again, I will try to update it here as well.

My 2006 3.2 with 42k miles was having issues with starting where it'd struggle to gain revs after cranking, with it sometimes dying. Audi replaced the injectors and this has so far resolved the problem, but I think I have some new ones now, possibly similar to yours...
When starting cold (after sitting for awhile), my car cranks longer than it used to. Not 4-5 seconds like yours, but a solid second at least, and it's longer than any other car I've driven, even jalopies. I'm not sure if this is a problem, though. Secondly, also when starting cold, the engine noticeably "jiggles" or shakes the car, and this is definitely new. If I give the car some gas, the tach's needle will wiggle around a little bit - it's making me nervous. Anybody else have this minor engine shake on a cold start? I know JT Sarubbi (sp?) had his block replaced for a similar issue; I think it ended up being grooves in his cylinder walls.
As for the car idling high on a cold start, mine does this as well. I bought this car last winter, so I assumed it was the usual initial high idle almost all cars exhibit when cold. However, lately the outside temperature has been as high as 60, and the car still takes awhile to crank and idles high initially, both of which I have always thought were cold temperature-only happenings. Anybody also know if this is normal as well? Is it a direct injection thing?
Does your car seriously idle high for a solid minute? Mine only does for about 15 seconds.

it does idle high for a while but as soon as i drop it into gear it goes back down below 1000 rpms.
