After a quick google search I found three. The Gladius Night-OPs, Insight Procyon, and the Fenix P2D Premium.

Any opinions?

It's safer and far more flexible.

having a light attached to the gun means that you can only look where your gun is pointed. If you have a threat held at gun point you can no longer look around you without losing the advantage over the threat.

Think about clearing a house. If you're coming around a corner with a light on your gun you need to get the entire gun around the corner to see what is happening. That means you're either going to have to poke the gun out with a one hand grip, possible a weak side only grip, or expose a good deal of your body to get a peak.

A light on a gun is also a perfect target. It' pretty clear from the way you'd hold the combo that it's a light on a gun. All one needs to do is aim for the light.

I'm sure there just as many arguments for mounting the light on the weapon. There is no right answer.

Here's the theory from the SureFire Inst....so take it FWIW
