Is it still true that only MTs have the gas guzzler tax of $1,300? Does anyone know the paremeters that drive this? From what I saw on the specs, the MT only has 2 mph lower mileage than the Tiptronic. Seems like a steep tax for a small difference.

If you look carefully - the Tip has a $1300 premium over the MT. Hm...looks likes something got shoved in anyway.

You could look at it like this....

If you already wanted the Tip, you're essentially getting it for free.

If you absolutely did not want a Tip, you're paying the equivalent price in tax anyway.

But at least you can get it the way you want it.... for a price.
