I live in NYC, pay $650/ month in rent, make about<br>63k /year. I would keep the car at my parents (outside the city) and probably drive it twice a month and on several long weekends during the year. When I'm not driving it, my parents would drive it. For a 1.8TQ, I'm assuming a lease of $340/month + 120 for insurance. Am I crazy for considering this? I really have a bad case of the A4-bug (have for about 3 years). I know it makes no rational sense to have something this expensive that I don't need to have, but I REALLY want one.<br>What do you guys think? (I know I'm coming to the right place for an "objective" opinion).

Can I have your $650/month Manhattan apartment?<br>
Mike,<p>Getting out of Manhattan on those long weekends will be good for your health, all the way around. Now, isn't your health worth a lot to you? : )<p>So plan on long weekends away, unless mom burns up that turbo the first week!<br>But don't plan on EVER bringing the A4 into NYC...see my earlier posts on a broken bearing, lower control arm, etc. after 3 hours in Manhattan (before the parking garage people put dings in the bumper..)<p>Rich<br>'98 2.8Q sport, Manhattan survivor, currently enduring Seattle Chinese Water Torture rains...
I'm not sure About your bills but judging from my finances which are a little less than yours, go for it. I Pay about $540rent, $510 for my A4 + insurance. I have a School loan, Credit cards etc... It's a little bit of a squeze, but I'm able to make it without borrowing money from someone every month. Now If I were making your salary I would be able to max out my 401K, Invest about $500 a month in my companys stock and still have about $500/month extra. Keeping your car at your parents and not driving it often means that the car will have very low miles, Important when you want to trade up to an S4 :-)
