Every so often when the engine is still warm and I go to start the car it doesn't start. Sometimes it does nothing but all the electronics come on, other times it seems like the engine was about turn over but cut short.

If I turn the key to try to crank the engine nothing happens. However, if I turn the key back to the off position and then try again it always starts right away.

Has anyone experience this? And if so, what did the problem turn out to be? This is an 06 A3 2.0T, by the way.
