View Full Version : F'd up morning for me... Watch the overpasses on 30 bypass(long)

Left the house at my usual 4:00AM. Got onto 30 bypass right down from 10 and 30. As I'm approaching the Business 30 overpass I notice a station wagon stopped on the bridge. Next thing I see is some object coming at me (pumpkin/carcass), not sure it was dark. Slam on brakes, run over whatever was tossed at me. Pull over, run back under bridge, look up and car is gone.
Continue on to work for a while then turn back figuring I better report this before someone gets hurt. Found a local cop and he said to call the state police. They said there wasn't much they could do because I didn't get a license plate number.
I figured this would be the case but still felt I needed to do something. I just hope this was an isolated incident and I don't read about some mom and her kids who were killed because an object went through her windshield and she lost control and crashed.
I now realize I probably should have called 911 right then and there but realistically the outcome would have probably been the same.
End rant.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that they can't do anything, but if someone gets hurt, they are out in full force asking questions of everyone and their mother. The easiest way to deal with it is to get some info yourself before they get too far.

The concept behind it is to allow law enforcement/the judicial system, using this clear plexi tube, to insert a useless human being like a nut who drops things from overpasses, possibly killing an innocent person, and jettisoning them into orbit. This can also obviously be used for hardened criminals who don't find jail to be a deterrent against crime. The benefits are many-fold. Less tax payer money used building prisons, maintaining them and feeding thankless criminals. We'd also never have to worry about them falling back to earth...

by the way, good work on using the term Jettison. Loved it and will continue to use throughout the day!
