I suspect that the new S4 will eventually get some tune..but I would not expect it for at least a year. So..the S4 would have to be stock for 9 months or more. I have the Dinan Stg 2 tune on my 335..it is suppose to have 384 bhp and 421 torque at the crank. The new S4 will not have those numbers...not even close. The Chef. 01-19-2009, 04:49 PM be it with lower times. You will have a faster car for 9 months. Yay? s4wood 01-19-2009, 05:31 PM I am just talkin..not dissin one car in favor of another. I have owned three S4s before. nirad 01-20-2009, 10:23 AM Bahn S4 01-20-2009, 12:31 PM honest question. John J Szobocsan 01-20-2009, 01:25 PM The seven speed variant of S-tronic does not have launch control as a feature. I've read several references that state the 0 to 60 mph times are slightly slower than the 6MT because of an additional gearshift is required with S-tronic. s4wood 01-20-2009, 02:44 PM I have lots of 335i friends that have expressed desire for mods if I sell them. Bahn S4 01-20-2009, 06:26 PM Prolly faster than an M3 and way cheaper. I assume your dealer is cool with the mods? s4wood 01-20-2009, 07:58 PM So now I am sorta uneasy. VerrÜckt 01-21-2009, 05:23 AM Blau Flash 01-21-2009, 05:28 AM is a lil quicker than the manual. John J Szobocsan 01-21-2009, 09:49 AM It's slower because it a seven speed box and needs to shift into third to reach 60 mph. In actuality, it could be to reach 100 kph. Therefore, the gears are more closely spaced, with a longer seventh gear, than the six speed manual. The closer gear ratios allow for quicker in gear times. VerrÜckt 01-21-2009, 10:30 AM at 4500 RPM which gives you a huge surge off the line. The S-tronic is soft and doesn't allow you to launch with more than about 2000 RPM. The S-tronic shifts so quickly that 3 DSG shifts are probably less time than 2 average human shifts. rktskicar 01-23-2009, 08:01 PM s4wood 01-24-2009, 07:57 PM At times my car goes really well. I wouldnt say I am impressed with the fall off in power when it is 100 degrees out..and I am on the track doing a 20 minute session. Blau Flash 01-30-2009, 07:39 AM |
