I'll be the first to admit that once you've spent a few years in a daily driver with 450+ chp and ~480ft lbs you can drop in any gear its tough to find an acceptable replacement.

Having owned a new B5 S4 and now a b6 S4 I could never go back to 6 when owning a 8.

B8 S4. I had her for 7 years, built her from stock, and said I would never get rid of her unless it was for a turbo p car. If I can hold off the itch to buy a used 997TT until october '09 I will get the B8 S4.
Seams like a great platform again to work with.

I love V8s, but 340hp/302 ft-lbs just isn't enough for a 3800lb car... definitely not after having nearly 500/500 in a 3600lb car.

Making an argument on number of cylinders alone is laughable. Have you driven a supercharged V6 before?
