All the stories seem to have the same info, probably from the AP. What they claim is:
- shooter had a Glock
- caliber was .45
- magazines held 10 rounds each
Does this make sense so far? I'm not a Glock guy. Do Glock's in .45 use 10 round magazines as standard issue? I realize he could buy magazines with various capacities. I'm just wondering if this is normal or not. I know that 1911's are usually in the 6-8 round capacity.
The other interesting item is that the stories say that his Glock jammed after four rounds.
We don't know anything abut the ammunition he was using, but I know that Glock users think their Glock will go bang every time. I'm sure this guy thought that.
Lesson-learned: just about any gun can fail to fire, even Glocks. Know your weapon; know your ammunition; and know your drills for clearing the action (tap-rack-bang).
