I have the urge to get an SLR-85, 100 magazines and about 5k rounds of sealed 7.62x39.

and after all that I'd still have spent less than I did on my last shotgun...

I thought WHY... could get two good AK's for that price.

don't get that warm fuzzy shooting them recreationally.

love the price of everything. Love how I can hide one inside my drywall for fourty years, then one day when the robots attack just punch into the wall through the mural right where I painted a tiny brittany spears giving birth and BAM I have a fully functional Ak47 spewing rust and grease along with its deadly cargo. I love the gun.

I'm a pistol shooter and my effective range as a marksman with any weapon is probably not greater than 100yards. It suits me extremely well. I like glocks, pump shotguns and AK47s. That's me.

That being said I wish I had a range where I could learn how to shoot further... I just don't want to travel far enough to gain such skills and justify anything different.

system this planet has seen. IMHO. And its statistically hard to argue against that opinion.

So you could do alot worse...

Imported as a $189 "hunting" rifle.

Mods:

Ace folding buttstock
pistol grip
trigger moved forward
Tapco FCG
Tapco "ak-74" style muzzle brake welded on
Bullet guide welded on.

It's a basic "few frills" AKM conversion. For that you get a genuine made-in Russia rifle, way better than a WASR IMHO. I like my Arsenal SLR-107FR better, but it cost alot more and wasn't available until recently. My Saiga was bought 4 years ago right after the ban ended.
