I've been thinking about joining the NRA for the past 10 years. My Dad is a life member and I love reading his American Hunter mags whenever I visit. Although I'm not sure if I'm going to pursue my professional life in the USA, I still don't mind contributing to such an organization that promotes safety and the guns rights of its citizens.

So here's my question. Current Life Membership price is $1,000. I heard that at certain conventions it is possible to get the Life Membership at a reduced price. Is that true? If so, when/where are these events so that I may pay up?

Then they will send you offers to upgrade to a life member at discounted rates or you could even do the Easy Pay Life membership which lets you pay for a life membership over time.

I did my basic life membership as an Easy Pay Life, then paid it off early, but have since become a Benefactor member.

Join the NRA page

One could hope they will offer that again, but regardless I've seen a lot of folks get offered half-price upgrades so a 1yr membership MAY make sense.

Easy Pay Life seems like a bad idea in light of possible cheaper upgrades - I recall very mixed results on EPL people being able to utilize the cheap deal.
