Or a regular safe for ones he doesn't need quick access to. Further, don't leave a round chambered in any of them. Make sure she understands why he's doing this.

It'd also be a good idea to take her to the range if not a safety course.

Those things made my wife comfortable with it though she has some gun experience.

If there are kids around, lock the guns in well hidden locations.
