GSG5 is very fun. Needs more magazines and cheaper mags. If you get one of these get as many mags as possible. You must be careful not to hold the mag when shooting as its open and can cause a misfeed. The stock is too high for me and It was difficult to get my eye low enough to line up on the sights but doable with alot of head tilt, it was somewhat uncomfortable, but the gun fired pretty much any 22 we ran through it. Very little recoil and accurate.
The Golani was interesting. Right away I noticed the front sight post was extremely low inside the ring and sure enough, the sights were way off. Fired very very high, so there is always a chance that you can get one of these that might require considerable work to get the thing zerod in. The gun ran fine with brass 223. Didn't try any steel case, because after about 25 rounds, I had a split case. This could have been an oddity, but I also had a split case later than day in my Sig551. So i think my Armscor once reloaded .223 was messing up my ****. Another thing I discovered last night. The Golani ships bone dry.
M1941 Johnson rifle. The trigger was very light. Almost too light. This produced very good accuracy, but one has to get used to the way the force required to take up slack is identical to release. There isn't any propression so its best on this rifle to leave your finger just resting on the trigger and then pull when you're ready to fire. Recoil was heavy. Heavier than a Garand and much more sharp. Probably all that mass moving rearward when its fired. Accuracy was very good and i could easily drop rounds into a 30 circle at 400 yards. Reliability was also excellent with no misfires or misfeeds.
Swiss PE57. This gun was spectacular. Trigger was heavy, but the gun was just on. Very accurate and the feel was right for me. Excellent sights. Recoil was quite light due to the weight of the gun and the light sprung mass. Of all my guns, this is currently my most favorite and is my **** hits the fan gun. Replacing the Swiss 551 which previously held that position.
