Got extremely timely (<1hr) responses to *MANY* presales e-mail questions, got an accurate time estimate up front, got a confirmed price/delivery quote shortly after receipt of my magazines, and they called about 1.5 weeks earlier than commit to say everything was shipping that day.

My only minor gripe was that the mags came adult signature required, so I had to run down to UPS to actually pick them up.

$20/ea for Matte Roguard to make my BNIB factory Kahr mags better match the Tungsten DLC coating of the rest of the metal parts on the PM9. (Factory Kahr mags are all unfinished stainless, so fairly bright silver patch on an all-black gun.)

I've been holding off posting planning to take some pictures, but haven't gotten a round tuit yet, sorry. The Robar folks were VERY explicit that their finish would not "match", and sure, I agree it's not 100%, but the casual observer wouldn't notice the difference unless s/he was looking for it, IMO.

Cosmetic-only "mod" I'm sad to say, but very pleased with the results.

Any time I had contacted them in the past, they were mostly aloof about my issues. Glad to see you're happy with the mags. The Roguard is a good finish. The NP3 is even better, but obviously wouldn't match the gun. I had a bunch of fire control parts on my .308 done in NP3. It's really a slick (literally) coating.

FWIW I tried your guy and via e-mail he was pretty noncommital. I'd already settled on a Robar finish with 8-10 e-mails between us when he finally replied something to the effect of "Yeah, black would be best" when I asked how best to match the finish on the Kahr.... Maybe he's a better phone contact than them, but e-mail is the right method for me most of the time.

In contrast, Robar offered that nothing they had would perfectly match and I should try the factory (which I'd already done and been turned down), then agreed that Roguard would be closest but that even with matte it wouldn't be a perfect match, quoted turnaround, etc, etc.

I wish NP3 came in black - it sounds perfect except for the dang color, and this job was all about color :(

He does all kinds of work for GA Precision. That takes up a bunch of his time. And yeah, he's a little tough to get in touch with via e-mail. It's better to catch him on the phone or at a show. He'll talk your ear off if he has the time.
