save the "go for a caliber starting with 4" comments, I like the 9mm and in a self defense scenario it will do more than plenty.
WHich one would you choose given those options, and why? Im leaning toward the Walther cuz its a bit chunkier and I like the feel in my hand....

Too big.
If your main carry gun and you'll have a pocket-sized backup, then sure.

i have a G17 that I'm using for carry, but it's a bit big to conceal. i use an iwb holster.
i think 9mm with good defense ammo from Federal, Corbon, and Remington is fine.
9mm is controllable, and you might just hit what you're aiming at.
.40 is not a bad choice.
i'm considering a snubby .38 for a smaller carry.

not bad, but don't try to hit anything past 30 feet with one.

in any modern firearm. ONLY behind Kel-tec. I shot 2 boxes of ammo out of my P99 before I traded it with a buddy for an ar upper
