Now is the part where I wait and wait and wait and hope the new sheriff is cool. Thermal 01-22-2008, 04:24 PM fusilier 01-22-2008, 05:32 PM AAC Phoenix Pistol. I bought it middle of last year from a guy having a divorce, but been a lazy ass about filing the paperwork. Unlike full autos I can't get really jazzed about a silenced .22, but I wanna have it before the next shoot. Im having a bit of buyers remorse about it. Right now I'm dying to get the SIG AMT I bought. Thermal 01-23-2008, 03:24 AM me and my family would fit in Austin is definately the highest on the list by a long shot. I like guns. I like shooting guns. We're all radical militant athiests (just made that up, sounds very gitmo). I like bats. I love SRV and SRV related statues. And I hate the winter in Ohio. And apparently you can just build a rally car and destroy the area around Austin whenever you want. Richard Solomon 01-23-2008, 04:45 AM If this were AWOT, I'd have added "Lots of hawt college chicks". College towns aren't always best for families, but yeah, I could probably live there. On Topic: Texas CCW has a HUGE gotcha though - posting a sign saying "No concealed weapons" has the force of law. (Any place in any state can ask you to leave of course. Any place can post a sign, but in most states the sign has no legal standing - i.e. it's not illegal to ignore the sign.) Thermal 01-23-2008, 04:54 AM fusilier 01-23-2008, 04:55 AM If they don't want people packing heat, then thats their business. They could possibly be sued if an incident occurs on their property and an otherwise armed citizen had to disarm to enter their public place of business. IMO opens themselves up to a lawsuit if ever something should happen. And yeah, There are ALOT of smoking hot chicks here. The county if very liberal and Democrat though, but the surrounding counties are very Conservative. So you can't build a racetrack in austin, but you can go one county out and its not a problem. fusilier 01-23-2008, 05:02 AM I can't imagine living anywhere else. Thermal 01-23-2008, 05:20 AM Me and my wife used to be under the rule that as long as I could find a job that paid 30% more we could move out of state. Well I've done that twice now in state and finding six figure plus jobs out of state is very difficult in my field. So I've kind of successed myself into a corner here. Richard Solomon 01-23-2008, 06:33 AM It's impractical and thus makes the CCW law effectively non-existent IMO. Thermal 01-23-2008, 06:50 AM If I'm doing my job then nobody would ever know. If I'm not doing my job its not a felony so who cares. If the worst happens I'll take that fourth degree mis to defend myself or my family in bob's electronic barn with its safety signs. Richard Solomon 01-23-2008, 12:18 PM and glad to hear it's a "fairly" minor offense, but I still think it's a stupid provision of the law. |
