Thermal's post on the HST reminded me that I've got a handful of unopened boxes of 9mm Black Talons kicking around that I foolishly bought right as they were being "banned".
Can I get any money out of this stuff? Where/how?

so I don't know if the Black Talon are worth any more, there have been a few years of bullet design to compensate for the teflon.

BT just had the "evil" reputation. Now it's interesting that Thermal pointed me to Federal HST - which looks like the same xact thing to me????

I paid too much for it, was kinda hoping there would be silly people collecting that kinda stuff somewhere who'd pay me for it :(

...so you defended yourself. I've done that twice now and the subject of the exact make and model of my handgun ammo has never been an issue. They're no different than a moly coated bullet.

you run into the "Mr. Snoogins was *LOOKING* to kill someone! Look at the evil BANNED ammunition he was carrying. Not content to use normal bullets like our Police force, Mr. Snoogins sought out the most damaging evil bullets he could - ammunition that was loudly denounced by the medical profession and removed from the market in the face of public outcry. No, Mr. Snoogins wasn't content to buy regular ammunition, he had to scour the internet in search of the most vicious, wanton and destructive ammunition he could buy - and paid an exorbitant price for it."
You can have mine. $50/box + shipping.

And I don't know anybody else that will, either.

Then I can have a box just sitting around my house that I can find five years later because I never shot it.

Drop me an e-mail if you're serious. I've never shipped ammo, so dunno how UPS deals with that from individuals.

Did I not say <i>I foolishly bought right as they were being "banned"</i>????

They're getting to be rare out there. I'm from the school that ammo is ammo though and unless it has historical value its not worth more than its retail price.
Then again historically significant ammo or extremely rare calibers or designs are often not worth the effort since eventually that stuff becomes a little less than safe or effective.
Now I'm off to buy me some gyrojet ammo.

I was soon <a href="http://forums.audiworld.com/firearms/msgs/381.phtml">disabused</a> of the idea of using them myself, plus I shot most of a box of them in testing and decided they didn't open all *THAT* well.
When they opened right they were impressive - and would do so consistently out of a carbine.
When they didn't open right they were pretty pathetic - and would do so some substantial portion of the time out of 4" pistol bbls.
I should dredge up my box of expanded HPs and post some pictures here :)
