Maybe they didn't have all MPG numbers but:

2010 RX350 AWD: 18/24/20 mpg
2009 BMW X3: 17/24/20 mpg

All pretty close though and sure not everone loves the RX.

The Hybrid RX400h has much better mileage but won't be cheap (but neither is the Q5 really):

2010 RX450h AWD: 28/26/27 mpg

best in class city at 18mpg and best in class combined (tied with BMW) at 20 mpg. Highway is down 1mpg from the X3, however if you drag out the formula epa uses to calculate combined fuel economy, the Audi Q5 should come out on top (as city fuel economy weighs more heavily than highway fuel economy).
