Hey all,
I'm not a frequent reader of Audiworld so please pardon these questions if they've been asked before.
I'm thinking about getting the Q5 for the wifey as a future baby hauler and had some questions.
1) When is Q5 expected to hit the states?
2) Will demand be high? Pre-order or walk-on?
3) What are the engine ranges? (6cyl 8cyl, etc)
4) What are the MSRP ranges
5) Is the Q5 built on the A4 chassis or the A6 chassis?
Thanks in advance.

1) When is Q5 expected to hit the states?
First quarter 2010
2) Will demand be high? Pre-order or walk-on?
Doubt it just because of the economy. I'd say deals will be had shortly after intro or before depending on economy.
3) What are the engine ranges? (6cyl 8cyl, etc)
3.2 V6 and hybrid sometime within 1st year. TDI? Who knows, probably second year or never.
4) What are the MSRP ranges
Base should be mid 30's to over 50 loaded.
5) Is the Q5 built on the A4 chassis or the A6 chassis?
Based off of new B8 A4/A5 platform.

Should be available around March 2009.
Just a guess but most likely since it's a brand new model you may have to order and wait several months (demand in Europe is relatively high). But difficult to say for sure though.
The Hybrid won't come to the US before end of 2010 according to recent interview with Audi.
The 3.2TFSI is the only choice for now.
MSRP is unknown and most likely will be announced next month. My guess it will be high 30's or low 40's.

- I might be thinking, considering it's based on the A4 chassis, it might be too small. While I love the A4 (I had a 1997 A4 and a 2000 S4) it was a car that fit me better when I was in my twenties.
Now that I'm in my thirties, I've grown comfortable to a bigger car. I'm concerned that the Q5 will be too small.
Any thoughts?

Your old B5 A4 is smaller than the A3 now. The cars have grown a lot in the past decade. Q5 is pretty good size, and is comperable to the Lexus RX / Infiniti FX.

Audi USA does not listen to their customers very well.

Which makes it a compelling alternative to the A4 Avant.

Someone in fourtitude forum heard 48K for prestige. That's a big gap from base (37K). But not sure yet if that's correct. Although with navigation the price will jump fast at Audi:-(.
