With a baby on the way, she'll need the added versatility of a small SUV over her A4. Since the Q7 is just too big, and she doesn't like Avants, the Q5 looks like it'll be spot-on. Include a diesel for the early cars and I'll be buyer #1.

As the TDI might become associated to one model. Then its detractors will just say thats the engine out of the *insert model*.

It also gives them another press opportunity.

So it looks like they will be close but not a get go spec.

Isn't coinciding launches one of the countless numbers of reasons that Mercedes Benz too the catastrophic hit in quality, reliability, durability and dependability?

To a certain degree, coinciding launches is also what hurt the quality, reliability, durability and dependability of Toyota/Scion/Lexus and Nissan/Infiniti/Renault (Renault has not been sold in North America for years); though nowhere near the horrific extent that it hurt MB.

Audi absolutely cannot afford to have this happen to them, especially now that they are generally praised by the automotive kings at Consumer Reports (and rightfully so, I might add, for this very good brand that, admittedly, still needs lots and lots of improvement, I am afraid).

In addition to being praised by the automotive kings at CR, they now need to be praised by the automotive peasants at JD Power and Associates and Strategic Vision, both of whom still bash Audi (and wrongfully so, I might add) and praise Gaguar-err-Jaguar and now MB (and also wrongfully so for both of these junky brands at that).

At least all three of these automotive sources still bash Junk Rover-err-Land Rover and Slummer-err-Hummer (and rightfully so, I might add for both of these junky brands).
