Rocky - Looks like you'll be able to buy a MB that's Q5 sized with a TDI before you'll be able to get the Q5 TDI here in the US.

Also, I bet the X3 TDI will make it to the US before the Q5 TDI.

I really want the Q5 TDI as well, but refuse to wait more than the two years it seems that we'll be waiting.

I get supplier discount on all three manufacturers that I listed above, so whichever TDI makes it to the US first, is probably the one I'll buy.

Mercedes GLK Freeside: Itty-bitty Benz

...I am really fretting about Audi's lack of concern over bringing TDI late to the party against their competition as I plan to get rid of my S6 as soon as the CPO runs out a year from now. If the Q5 does not have a TDI I will be shopping elsewhere.

stay and be patient.
I waited 7 months for my Q7 after deposit so about 10 in all but it was so well worth it to have one of the first. Maybe thats cos I am a natural born show off and really enjoyed that special time.
If it is just too far away and lease dictates, go but dont come back for the first six months as that will be the teething time. Certainly for model but the 3.0 TDI is well tested and blows the mind of anyone who hasnt driven it before (even in a country full of Deisels).
I wonder if the delay in Q5 is timing, as in they want it to hit the US with that engine but must have the type approval in place.

I'D wait!
