Being an engineer and having a hobby of detailing cars I am most happy what Audi has done with the B8. Each new model starting with the B5 have been overall better than the previous generation. I trully love my B7 but I must say I feel the B8 is another significant advancement. Going over the car with a fine tooth comb and spending several hours in the owners manual I am pleasantly suprised at all the little details and attention to safety, performance and economy.
My favorite features are LED day time driving lights, 18" Prestige wheels, B & O sound system, the blue tooth phone link, Audi Music interface and of course side assist. None of these features existed on my 06 B7. I have heard that Audi spent of a billion dollors in development and I can see it clearly.

Are a few things missing, sure like the power folding mirrors and we now have a 2 person memory for the driver seat and mirrors versus the 4 memory presets of the B7 but both of those a very minor in the big picture.

Fit and finish are excellent and in spending many hours detailing today with a coat of P21S I did not find one problem. As I discover more features I will post them here are a few now. You can preset your speed on the cruise control. The floor well light are all LED's. A power management system controls what accessories may not be available is the battery is running low. For example if you tend to make a lot of small trips with many accessories on like lights, the radio, seat heaters, rear window defrosters and the battery cannot keep up then power management may tell you "you need to start the car to adjust the seat". Power management wants to keep enough battery power to always start up the car.

Another big advancement is the climate control. The knobs make it much easier to adjust temp up and down without looking for the up or down buttons. Also now the driver can have "auto" on for air flow while the front passenger can elect to have all air directed to the floor. This was not possible before. Of couse those A4s with premium+ or higher have the three zone climate controls so we now have rear seat vents!!

As you can see the Brilliant Black paint is awesome.

I never liked the B7....the front end just didn't come together very well as compared to the A3 or subsequent large grill Audis.

i also have the prestige and love the b&o sound system. it just gets clearer and louder. i feel as if i'm going to blow the subwoofer so i turn the bass to mid level when i turn the volume up. just a tiny bit paranoid knowing that b&o is not cheap.

another thing i noticed, if you turn the knob to the passenger side rear view mirror and back up, it points to the ground. doesn't do it for driver side though.

the side assist is AWESOME. i leave it on all the time.

cheers... rocco

automatically? I have a B6 Avant, and you can have them set so that you only have to adjust the drivers side and both change at the same time... Thanks. ML

Just push both control knobs in for a few seconds. Now when you adjust the driver side both will be in sync. It is easy.
