View Full Version : I just noticed the B8 has a Demand based oil pump...interesting, anyone know more about it?

A quick guess, is gonna be something that going fail around 60K miles and Audi will deny, just like the Belt Tenstioners....

No serious....Audi is trying to free up .99 HP and are making the oil pump paper thin. Im not trusting it!!!

"A drive gear at the end of the balance shaft drives the coolant pump via a toothed belt. The larger drive gear on the pump acts as a speed reducer. A fan wheel is attached to the coolant pump drive gear to cool the toothed belt."
