Not sure if Audi is so serious in US market. My Audi A4 lease is up in Nov and was shopping for 09 A4 or 08 A6 and their lease numbers are killing me:

Over 750/month for a loaded 09 A4 3.2 (265HP), if I can even find one with Sport Pkg...LOL. This is a world-class Sport Sedan launch right? No Sport Pkg yet? What are they thinking before the A4 launch?

Over 700/month for a 2008 3.2 A6 (265HP) with loaded options, S-Line sport interior/exterior/NAV ...etc. Audi dealers don't even bother to give much discount on 09 A4. Where is customer loyalty discount?

Over 750/month for 2008 S4.

I ended up with BMW 2008 535i (300HP) loaded NAV/Sport/Prem/Ipod/Full maint/service/Tele SOS included. for 630/month tax included (almost 6K under MSRP and MSD option that helps to reduce MF. ask the dealer). I did not like 2007 or older 5 series but 2008 535i is much improved car and the twin-turbos engine is FAST with 28 mpg on highway.

I owned 3 Audi (2xA4, 1 A6) since 2000 but it's time to move on. Cost/features on BMW took me away. Btw, sport pkg in 535 is a nice pkg. I tried to go with Audi first but after driving all these cars and look at their costs, I picked 535i.

I also looked at 335/328 but they're too small for me (have two kids).

I hope Audi will be more competitive in US market again. With this market condition, everyone is getting very competitive.

I've followed many car forums since 1998, and it's the same story each time. New car comes out, no deals available, people complain, some buy elsewhere, one year later, deals appear.

Repeat chorus.

then pick both 09 models or see how numbers match when you buy the cars.
535i is a nice car. I would not own an Audi without the sport package, (IMO) as looks and handling suffer.

Do you mind me asking what you put down for the 535? Also what milage? I am thinking about doing the same and just wondering what kind of deal you got. I want to go new A4 but their pricing is to high at the moment.

I recently picked up an '08 328i (no kids, just one feisty Jack Russell Terrier). With the 0.9% financing and just-over-invoice pricing, it was a killer deal not to be passed up. I'd been wanting a B8, but Audi's lease and finance rates didn't do it for me, though I know the B8 is all-new and I expect rates to be higher. Wishful thinking on my part. We're still looking to get a B8 within the next few months and so I'm hoping the rates come down soon.

2k cap cost reduction
2k 1st month, 1st deposit, fee, dmv
12k/year and 35 payments for 36 months.
Max multiple security deposit (lower MF from 0.00185 to 0.00135). This is 7 x monthly payments = 5000.00 is fully refundable at lease end. This lowers almost 70 bucks/month from original payment/MF, much better than putting in saving. I wish Audi had the same option. 635/month is what you should pay for it.

I might look at A4 or A6 at lease end but really depends on what kind of deal Audi is giving by then. At this point for me, Audi does not have any good deals/cars for me so they don't earn the business.

I'd buy Audi or BMW depending on current model's features/costs and enjoy both when I can. Their profit is not a factor in my buying decision.

Both companies make fine cars and I enjoy their products.
