...limits with the 2.0t? Seems I recall reading that the delayed manual on the "two" can't handle much more that the two's base numbers whereas the auto could withstand a bunch more.

If this is the case, then the tip might be better able to handle a future ecu mod.

I'm wondering as I'm trying to rationalize an Avant with an AT since that's the way it's gonna be. Never have owned a non-manual equiped car before..

..well, once I did have a $75 Chevy (circa 1960?) that lasted about 12 miles before she blew her guts.

One rated for engines up to 258 lb-ft (OB2).

And one rated for engines over 258 lb-ft (OB4) (probably a Euro diesels trans, but listed as used on the A5/S5.)

There is only one automatic transmission listed the OB6 rated for 428 lb-ft.

The bigger issue might be the rear diff. There are two versions listed. The OBD rated for 295 lb-ft and the OBC rated for 442 lb-ft. It's not necessarily a given if you have an automatic rated for 428 lb-ft that it will have the beefier rear diff.

..I'd bet that if I asked the local dealer as to which diff, he'd probably just say that he'd "get back with me on that" and never follow up.

But it is good to know that the auto "should" handle any extra power "better" than the manual.

Pretty much every Bimmer is available in manual.
Audi is getting very lazy if you ask me.
People like us put them on the map for the last 10years. However, Audi wants us to drive slushboxes. *I stand up and I resists*
People in here need to fire e-mails to A.O.A and let them know!
