. . .tick off "sport suspension" & the option to allow the character of the handling, throttle tip-in, shift points and god knows what else, to be changed from comfort, to standard, to dynamic and even custom, via the MMI ("Audi Drive Select," i.e.) & you set the thing for Comfort.

Do you have a stiff set of "springs and struts" and a comfy set of dampers (increased travel and potentially more jounce?) Do you have a soft yet, er, tight ride and drive. Or do you have a stiff suspension wrapped somewhat in pillows?

Do you have the best of both worlds, or do you have something so schizophrenic that it "just ain't right?" (Hank Hill -- "Peg, we haven't even finished breakfast yet and there's someting that just ain't right about the boy. . ." [Bobby Hill])

-too much time thinking about too much stuff.

--of course if we actually had a car to drive, test and play with this all would be moot.

There`s a crazy idea -- bring over a few demos so people can decide what they want BEFORE you accept a single order. whaddyathink?

Oh wait, that's totally normal.

The spring rates can't be changed but the damping and loss coefficients are variable.

basically different springs and sway bars, however the dampers would be the variable valving setup for the drive select feature.

Now, will the drive select software be "tuned" to these different suspension bits, or does it automatically account for any differences over the standard suspension. i.e If someone gets lowering springs or different sway bars will drive select adapt and work ok?

I thought I read somewhere a drive select car would have a 20mm lower ride height, but perhaps this was a misquote and only sport suspension + drive select cars will have the lower setup?

Or another possibility is that sport suspension simply does not exist in conjunction with drive select. If you order one of the sports packages or S-Line and drive select you get all the other sport package's options with the exception of the sport suspension and get the drive select specific suspension in its place.
