I've read that the 3.0TDI is planned for the B8 A4 in the US, but not seen any definition as to whether that includes the avant.

I'm guessing they didn't offer the 3.2 gasser in the avant b/c they plan to offer the 3.0 TDI, but haven't seen any confirmation. Since the TDI should accelerate faster than the V6, it would make sense.

Also, anyone have any news updates on diesel availability in ANY Audi?

I sure wish it wasn't so costly to federalize all the various combos - I'd sure love a 6M TDI...

But so far, everything seems to indicate sometime next year. Q7 is the first to come over here with the 3.0 TDI this fall if I remember correctly.

Rumours that BMW will bring over their 3-series with the twin turbo V6 diesel this fall.

and it's on the website already: 335d and X5 xDrive35d (what a stupid name!). I believe the twin turbo is an inline six, not a V6. The system also uses a urea solution, which they call BluePerformance.

It's beyond ridiculously sad that BMW will beat Audi to the diesel punch here in North America.
