The show picture gallery posted on autospies.com shows the Cross Cabriolet quattro concept, a white S5, a white R8 and a Q7 on display at the Audi stand but there's no sight of the new A4. Do they unveil the A4 later on?

The show opens to the public Friday but they unveil models for the media a day or two earlier.

Funny how he B7 A4 look old school now compared to the A5/S5 platform.

Is it possible that they will just add it to the Audi stand today without fanfare or press conferences?

It doesn't make sense not to show it. They already displayed it in Australia. The only motivation I can think of is that AoA wants to sell the B7 for the rest of 2008. When people see the B8, they might be inclined to wait until fall of next year.

LAAS A4 debut

LA Autoshow head office said some cars came in late last night. She could not tell me which ones though. Then gave me some phone numbers for Audi, none of which worked. I then called AofA and was told there were no A4's on the list for LA. Not even the B7. So that really put faith in her answer. At this point, I am debating whether it's worth the drive. I am tending to think it's not there and should forget about it. PSH!

Yeah, quite disappointing. This would have been a good show to get a jump start on the interest. Once again AoA has a mind of their own.

automakers have been showing new cars far in advance. But Audi is probably thinking as you stated. BTW, the lady I spoke to at AoA this morning stated the B8 is to make it's American debut at Detroit. Roughly one month from now. What's a measly month? Should have debuted in car-conscious LA.
