Spent the afternoon yesterday in Ingolstadt and happened across a couple of B8s parked by the Service Training Center. I was hoping that the B8 would look better in person than in the pictures I've seen, but to be honest I was pretty underwhelmed by them. From the side the car looks really stretched and almost too long.

Maybe with some larger wheels or something...

Up close the headlights are pretty cool...

C6 A6, I think it's an A8 because it looks so big. The C5 A6 will probably look the same size as the B8 A4. Does anyone have a picture of those two sid-by-side?

Part of the reason I believe is cause the wheelbase is longer, so it gives the impression the car is much longer than it used to be.

I like the front wheels closer to the very front. It still looks like a long nose to me, however. I really like the lower front end design and the pull-grip door handles.

Underwhelmed by the wheel designs. Usually Audi has pretty nice ones, but not these.

BTW, I am a little unclear on the headlamp function. I assume the projector beam is the Xenon low beam. Is the high beam the trapazoidal part under the LED DRL? Looks like it would get in the way.

beams. Normally closed for low beams, a shutter inside opens fully for high beams.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvxUWYKA3_Y</a

First car has 7.5Jx17 with 225/50 R17, second car has 8Jx17 with 245/45 R17 tyres.

Agreed. I like the B6/7 mirrors better. The new ones are too large (SUV) and they don't hug the side profile of the A-pilar. They pull away from the car and leave a larger gap inbetween. Why was this done? For wind resistance?

I saw a silver one headed directly at me on the streets, and a couple of A5s in the factory (in lighter colors) that really impressed me. I was ready to trade them my S5 on the spot.

18" wheels and a slight drop help the proportions a bit
