Gobs of torque and great gas mileage and doesn't sound like the diesels from yesterday.

Ordered a black A4 2.0 TDI Multitronic a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to improve gas mileage from my current car's 0.9l/10km to approx 0.55l/10km (manual). M-tronic consumption not official as far as I know.

2.0 T - I'll be very disappointed if it's not available. If not then either 3.2 or 3.0 TDI hopefully in 24 mo.+

Wife does not like stick at all.

Frankly I will not by another Audi in the US unless it is a Diesel. (AudiUSA - RUlistening?)

My friend's neighbor in the UK has a 2005 A4 Avant diesel V6 six speed. Quick car.
My best friend has a 1.9TDI A3 Sportback, very luxed out. Sublime car. pulls 200 kph on the Trier-Ktown autobahn, so sweat. Great fuel economy.

Would prefer the DSG, but I doubt they will have it for longitudinal use for a while yet. Strongly considering European delivery option (new car plus vacation in one!)

Word, diesel now is MUCH better than the diesels of yesterday, and now it's even starting to surpass gasoline. I'd get the 3.0TDI quattro M/T sedan, AND THEN TUNE IT!

largely from the same factories and Audi reps are adimate in saying that many materials in the Audi are of higher grade, tolerances, etc. over the VW. My comment above about quattro is just me being a snob :)
