All this talk about the front DRL's, what about the back lighting??? Any guesses on LED license plate lighting? Tis one of the hottest things going IMHO.

I heard from Jason Teller a few months ago that apparently the rear lights would be LEDs, but it was a long time ago and specifications could have changed.

Also it looks as though the side mirrors are definitely LEDs, but I'm not sure about the rear lights. It doesn't really matter if they arn't, I've seen an S5 and the rear lights did look really good the way they are. But I would like them even more if they were LEDs, to be honest.

I'd also say that the A4 will get the LED interior lighting packages that are available on most of the other models now, which is also good news.

In the end though I think its better to have the LEDs in the front than the back, they look so much better in the front and if you are going to step out and admire your car, you usually look at the front and other people are more likely to see the front too.

I think that it adds LEDs to the interior in a few different locations. I havn't seen the B7s interior lighting pack, but in the S5, that I've been in, I could see LED illumination on the passenger side above where your feet are, also I think that there was another lot in the glove box, as well as in the door pannels, near the storage panels so you can see whats i there I assume. I could tell they were LEDs because of the colour of the light, it had a kind of blue tinge to it which looked really good. It was a very pure light, not like halogens.

There may be even more LEDs inside, but I wasn't able to ask the dealer because there were lots of people asking him questions the whole time. I should be able to find out more info in October when the motorshow is on and I'll post more info on it if you like.
