Its been out for a while in other countries e.g most of Europe, AU where I am, why hasn't it been available in the US. I've heard that Audi's diesel engines are the cleanest in the world, apparently.

And with California's tough emissions laws, no diesels could meet the requirements until now. We expect to see VW and Mercedes diesels in CA in 2009, so it makes sense that Audi and others will follow suit.

I'm sorry...after further thinking, I guess this isn't fair. APR *is* building a brand new facility, so I imagine that development may have slowed as they work through the details of the new shop.

I would enormously dig a turbo-diesel DOHC 24V 3L CRI valve-lift V6 with Quattro AWD and a 6-speed manual transmission in the form of the A5 3.0TDI coupe.

Or, better yet, a turbo-diesel DOHC 32V 4L or 4.2L CRI valve-lift V8 with a 6-speed manual transmission in the form of the S5 4.0TDI coupe (if 4L) or S5 4.2 TDI coupe (if 4.2L). The output of this engine would most likely be 330/335/247 SAE hp/DIN hp/kW and 509 lbs/ft of torque/690 nm.
