C'mon audi. You can get a touchscreen nav on a Nissan Altima for god's sake and it costs 25k less !!

you need to calibrate the screen often otherwise it will not function properly over time.

After using touchscreen navis in Hondas and Acuras (which, I understand are moving away from touchscreens themselves?), it's much more intuitive and easier to enter addresses.

But, I can live with the dial since that's all they've got. It's a minor thing to me.

the one in our Honda Odyssey and the one in our in-law's TL had never needed recalibration.

The MMI feels better to me, the touchscreen seems kind of wishy washy and fidly. The MMI feels so good to use to the touch and is so easy, have you ever used it before?

I guess it comes down to personal preference in the end. The MMI is more like an expensive watch while the touchscreen seems a bit plain in a way. Thats just how I feel about it though, maybe a touchscreen is a bit quicker, but I think the MMI is more involving and makes the process more prestigeous.

"more prestigious"?

Don't you think it gives the car a bit more of a luxury quality? The MMI is like an expensive watch or other device, it gives more style etc to the car, for me than a touch screen would.

I said prestigious because you wouldn't find anything like the MMI in a normal car, it gives a special flair to it IMO, its better than the controls of most high end cars even, in terms of functionality the way it looks and most importantly to me how it feels.

I've had both, and I can't say that's the case. I guess I don't see it that way.

and it was quite intuitive. I got ver adept at using it.

I feel like I am ringing up groceries at the local Kroger.

touch screen would kinda have to be in your face to use correctly.

Which would also have made it easier for touchscreen navigation.

I liked how my arm just fell on the dial and I could use the dial to do everything I wanted to do.
