Ok, I really like the B8 A4 and I would probably get one once my lease is over. But whatever happened to the B8 S4, and the Avant models? The A5 and S5 were announced at the same time, why not the A4 and S4?

The article I read said taht the car will be available in Europe in November 2007. But there's a 2008 B7 A4 out already. I guess this makes it a 2009?

Also, am I the only one that seems to think that the future A5 4 door Sportback makes more sence as an A4 than an A5?

Just some thoughts

The US is unique in that "2008" model year cars are sold in 2007. This is just a traditional way of selling new cars int his country.

In Europe and most of the rest of the world the year that the car is sold, is the year of the car.
A car sold and registered on the 29th Dec 2007 would be a 07 car, a car registered on the 1st Jan 2008 would be a 08.

This is why on these forums it is easier to keep to chassis names.

Anyway the current initial release is for the A4 sedan which will be officially revealed in Frankfurt and sold in Europe. The Avant release will happen later in 2008, probably int he late Summer. When the S4 model will be released is probably a similar timeframe or maybe sooner. I would expect the S4 to be the same engine and config as the S5...

However you can expect to only see the Sedan B8 A4 in late 2008 in the US market.

IIRC, A5 pics and info were leaked before S5 pics and info.
